IVD mass spectrometer

The introduction of the 3200MD series is responding to the demand in clinical settings for mass spectrometers as medical devices that meet regulatory requirements. The intended use of the device is to identify inorganic or organic compounds in human specimens for clinical use. The introduction of this new diagnostic device follows up AB SCIEX’s announcement in 2012 of obtaining ISO 13485:2003 certification, a standard that represents the requirements for a comprehensive quality management system for the design and manufacture of medical devices. The instrument is a fully-integrated triple quadrupole mass spectrometer that combines sensitivity and selectivity with ruggedness and reliability, all in an affordable, compact package. The innovative Turbo V™ ion source efficiently ionizes compounds over a wide range of flow rates, virtually eliminating cross-contamination, even with large sample loads. Patented LINAC collision cell technology enables high-sensitivity quantitation of multi-component analyses over a wide range of flow rates. Together with the compaction optics and pumping technology, this system ensures low limits of detection and quantitation. Rugged Curtain Gas™ interface technology protects the interface region and quadrupole analyser from contamination. With soft ware that enables automated setup, analysis, and methods development, hundreds of samples can be run per day.
